Mythical Games, EOS Lynx, and Scatter Introduce dGoods Standard
In January, Mythical Games, EOS Lynx, and Scatter announced dGoods, a new initiative around a digital standard for creating, managing and distributing digital products.
Said Rudy Koch, Head of Blockchain for Mythical Games, “It’s critical that we establish a meaningful digital goods standard that can support a diverse and innovative development community. When we looked at what was out there, we didn’t see anything that suited our needs at Mythical Games; and we weren’t the only ones.”
The key features for the upcoming dGoods standard include:
- Metadata Templates for 3d and 2d assets
- Certificate of Authenticity
- Multiple categorized tokens in one token contract
- Fungible and non fungible in one contract
- Is Open Source
According to Fred Kruger, EOS Lynx, this is important for the EOS blockchain to have an equivalent to Ethereum’s ERC-721 standard, which was on display during recent LA Dodgers giveaway:
6/10 EOS has no standard equivalent to ERC 721. And more importantly, there is no standard for EOS Wallets of which EOS Lynx, Scatter and Token Pocket are the three leaders.

Kruger, in the same tweet storm, also pointed out two initial main use cases for dGoods:
8/10 USE CASE #2: EVENTS and TICKETS
Not everybody plays games. While my 11 year old spends 50% of his waking life competing in FortNight, I am not a player. But I do go to concerts. I go to movies. I go to conferences/ As do a very large amount of people.— Fred Krueger (@dotkrueger) January 23, 2019
This is the latest advancement for Blockchain Gaming, on the heels of the recent Blockchain Gaming Alliance announcement.
