Punks, Apes, and Birds: IRL Events and Perks for NFT Communities
NFTs have taken center stage in the art and community worlds, but the innovations are extending past web3. As digital communities have helped some connect during COVID-19, many are looking to connect with their new digital friends in person.
CryptoPunks and the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) have taken the role as the “Bitcoin and Ethereum of NFTs,” at least from a popularity and value standpoint. The verified Ethereum wallet owners of these NFTs have been invited to a weekend in November in Los Angeles:
The three-day event includes a yacht party, brunch, and tickets to the Experience Cages show.
A newer project offering an interesting roadmap is the Dirty Bird Flight Club, from longtime music label, Dirty Bird. Their recent music festival, Dirty Bird Campout, included a live mural displaying their NFTs and a holders only afterparty and DJ set:

The team also airdropped four exclusive tracks to all NFT holders:

They’ve almost completed the V1 roadmap and are promising in Discord to launch V2 soon:
We are moving through our Flight Path!
Over the next week a rare bird will go out to BIRD HOLDERS each day starting today!
Each day the birds will get progressively more rare
